About Two J's
History
Formed in 1972 by Jerry Milos Sr. as a provider of painting services and odd jobs to residential and commercial clients in the Northern Illinois area, our founder had a vision of creating a truly diversified contracting company with unprecedented commitment to responsive service, strong work ethic, and quality.
Early on this commitment was evident through Two J's leadership in the painting of new residential construction during the 1970's housing boom and by being the first contractor to apply elastomeric waterproofing coatings in the midwest in the early 1980's.
Always a believer in education in the workplace, Jerry Milos Sr. enrolled management and supervisory personnel as well as tradesmen in contractor management courses, The University of Missouri-Rolla, Washburn trade school, and United States School of Professional Paperhanging. In 1987, Jerry Milos Jr., was instrumental in forming the first painting apprenticeship course for merit shop contractors in the Chicago area using the popular "Wheels of Learning" National Curriculum.
In 1990, Two J's turned its focus to working for strictly commercial and Industrial clients with a commitment to offering fast track - high tech services to Corporate America.
In 1992, Jerry Milos Jr. purchased the company from his father with a plan to enhance and diversify services and to grow the company to serve its patrons anywhere in the country. With the help of long time counterpart Dave Henneman (Operations Manager) this vision began to be realized.
1995 marked the year Two J's began to perform work across the nation for some of its loyal corporate customers.
Since then Two J’s has successfully completed projects for Haliburton in Bakersfield, California and the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. for Coca Cola in the Deep South to a mining operation in the upper Peninsula of Michigan.
During this expansion the company has diversified into floor coatings, lead encapsulation, confined space entry work, sealants, high-rise work, containment systems, waterproofing and other high tech coating services.
Beginning in 1996 Jerry Milos served on the board of Directors for the Illinois Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors. In 2000 he served as the Chapter President and currently remains an active member.
Dave Henneman earned a respected certification as Coating Specialist from the National Steel Structures Painting Council (SSPC) in 2000 and continues to maintain his certification bi-annually. Both Jerry Milos and Dave Henneman are certified by the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) as trainers of the nationally recognized painting I, II, III and Industrial Painting courses.
With the help of the other dedicated & long time Employees Sam Miceli (Sales/Estimating), Mark Martinez (Project Superintendent), Mark Augoustatos (Project Superintendent), Tera Genenz (Accounting), and Derek Milos (Foreman) the Two J’s front team has a combined 100 + years experience in the industry.
Our focus in the future is to continue to build on our past successes and improve our knowledge and skill to offer our clients the best service available anywhere.
